In spite of decades of attempts to reduce poverty through government programmes and international aid, it is estimated that there are still more than 350 million people in India living under the international poverty line.
What is the IntelleCash Microfinance Network Programme?
IntelleCash is the first initiative in India to apply the principles of business franchising to the microfinance sector through provision of a standardized microfinance
solutions package, suitably customized to meet the contextual needs of our network
partners.
In doing so, we provide microfinance entrepreneurs with the skills, experience and guidance they need to ensure that their venture is a success from day one.

All interviews were conducted with staff from Aajeevika, Intellecash
network partner, North West Delhi, in 2008.
Aajeevika has been operating in the impoverished relocation slums of North Delhi for more than three years.
Its goal has been to reach out to some of the most disadvantaged women in the community, providing them with access to credit to support their families through entrepreneurship.

A development consultancy and social investment bank, Intellecap is a pioneer in the multiple bottom line investment industry. The IntelleCash Microfinance Network Programme was developed using Intellecap’s expertise in capital structuring for MFIs, incubating innovative businesses and combining profitable and socially sustainable forms of development.
North India’s largest MFI, Cashpor is dedicated to providing accurately targeted microcredit services to entrepreneurial women in poverty, as a means to improving living standards. As our official training partner, Cashpor ensures that all IntelleCash partners' staff undergo intensive training to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary for work in the field.
Based in the Netherlands and India, Aavishkaar Goodwell is a for-profit business development company that provides equity finance and support to microfinance organizations on a socially and commercially sustainable basis. Aavishkaar Goodwell invests in start-up and established MFIs, including supporting their growth and integration into the mainstream financial sector. The IntelleCash network partners invested in by Aavishkaar Goodwell also receive support in matters regarding governance, management development and financial reporting.
